CNC Preview

The file is first shown as a temporary preview at its original imported shape. Closed areas are surfaced only so you can decide what the CNC should keep and what it should cut away.

GREEN GROUPOne classified region set. You can choose whether green should be kept or deleted.
RED GROUPSecond classified region set. You can choose whether red should be kept or deleted.

How to use: click Preview CNC Areas. The plugin auto-classifies closed regions into red and green. Then choose Delete Red or Delete Green. If needed, use Invert Colors, Holes Only, Smallest Loops as Holes, Select All Circles, Select All Rectangles, Select Same Area, Manual Toggle Mode, or Select Similar Type.

Seamless Pattern

Preview is mandatory. Pick a simple or compound profile, set the panel and equal border, then preview the full result. The panel and pattern are shown in two colors; choose which color means HOLE and which means SOLID, make any individual corrections, then accept.

For a compound face, the outer boundary is the repeat cell and its internal openings become the repeated CNC holes.

Include / Exclude pattern areas — set before Preview / Create
Include: 0 • Exclude: 0

Complete Hole Only removes the full pattern element when it touches EXCLUDE. Clip Pattern keeps only the portion outside EXCLUDE, so the excluded area stays completely solid. Small clipped fragments below the entered percentage are ignored.

Panel size & equal border
Equal Border Fill keeps the entered border exact on all four sides and automatically adjusts only the internal X/Y spacing so the pattern fits the usable area.

One border value is used equally on left, right, top and bottom. Pattern holes are kept inside this inner border, so the frame remains solid.

Parametric CNC

Select an existing planar SketchUp face, choose a pattern preset, and preview before generating. SketchUp shows a two-color preview; choose which color represents HOLE and which represents SOLID, then click individual regions only if corrections are needed.

The Solid Border value is enforced inside the selected boundary. Rectangles can clip partial holes to the inner border; irregular faces keep only complete holes that preserve the requested border.

Complete Hole Only keeps the existing behavior. Clip Pattern trims holes exactly at the EXCLUDE boundary and leaves the protected area solid.

Pattern presets, Random Mix & cell
Keeps cell width/height and pitch consistent instead of applying the default size percentage.
Equal Border Fill keeps the entered Solid Border exact and distributes the internal pattern evenly by adjusting X/Y gap.
With stagger layouts, alternate rows/columns are centered so the outer border remains balanced.

Output Size

Size changes update the preview. Entering both values can apply non-uniform scaling.

Thickness

Any red internal region is deleted before extrusion, so it becomes a hole through the extruded CNC part.

Import repair & smoothing options

Gap repair and tolerance apply when importing. Size, thickness and repeats update the current preview.

Performance

Fast analysis uses opaque red/green preview materials, avoids duplicate heavy analysis, caches feature calculations, and uses faster face/nesting processing. This is recommended for dense floral/Jali CNC patterns.

Auto Smooth is applied only after confirmation. It improves the visual result of segmented curves and can make the finished model easier to orbit, but the main loading-speed improvement comes from Fast analysis.

Geometry

For clean CNC files, leave Auto-fix OFF for the fastest preview. Turn it ON only when the source drawing has broken/open contours. Cutter diameter does not change geometry; it only checks selected cutouts.
